The Greek language and culture have had a significant influence in various fields throughout the years, such as astronomy, philosophy, chemistry, mathematics, and even other languages. Greek, belonging to the Hellenistic language group, is also the oldest living language in the Indo-European family. There are written sources in Greek dating back at least 3,400 years. How cool is that? Even cooler is the ability to read, write, speak, and interact in this language. Some may argue that Greek is one of the most complex languages in the world. It is, but it is also fascinating, interactive, meaningful, and profound, providing the learner with a unique diversity of opportunities and skills." "We at the Greek School in Stockholm are delighted to announce the launch of our first course in Greek as a foreign language, targeting adults (18+ years) across Europe who want to learn Greek or already have basic knowledge of the language. I Speak Greek!

We are pleased to announce the creation of a new class that will operate from the upcoming school year at the Greek School of Stockholm. The class, titled "I Speak Greek," is designed for children aged 7 to 11 who primarily want to improve their spoken Greek but also want to have an initial exposure to written Greek. The main goal of the lessons is to help students acquire or improve their communication skills, interact with others, participate in activities, and understand Greek culture and traditions as much as possible. Both new and current students of the school who feel these goals better suit their needs are welcome to enroll in this class. Classes will be held every Saturday at Sjölins gymnasium from 09:30 to 12:30. Additionally, there is the possibility of running a corresponding online class, "I Speak Greek," if there is sufficient demand and the required number of students is met.
